Anushka and Kashyap’s wedding
Why did you choose to commission a sustainable wedding dress?
I chose a sustainable wedding dress because I wanted something that felt meaningful and unique. I love the idea of wearing something that has a story behind it, made from recycled materials, usage of natural dyes . Also ateev’s love and commitment and detailing of each and every outfit for my wedding made it even more special.
What did your family and friends think when you told them the dress was made of recycled fabric?
At first, my family was a little unsure when I said I was going with sustainable wedding clothes—they weren’t totally sure what to expect. My mom especially had a few questions, mostly about whether it would still feel “wedding-y.” But once she saw the multiple outfits and heard the story behind it, she was totally on board. She actually got really into it and loved how thoughtful and unique it was. By the end, out favourite moments during wedding shopping was going to Ateev’s studio.
What was the process like working with re-?
It was such a rewarding experience.
It felt like more than just picking something off a rack—I got to collaborate with people who really cared about the vision and details. They were genuinely excited to be part of the journey, and that energy made everything feel even more special. It added this extra layer of connection to the day, knowing there was a whole team behind the scenes helping bring it all to life.
How did you feel when you wore the dress on your wedding day?
Wearing a wedding outfit that reflected my heritage and culture was honestly such an emotional and powerful moment. It felt like I was carrying a piece of my history with me down the aisle—not just celebrating love, but also honoring where I come from. There was so much pride in every detail, and it made the day feel even more meaningful. I felt deeply connected— to my heritage abd culture the bigger story behind it all.
